Ms. Rebecca McDonald (Alpha A-L)

Ms. Rebecca McDonald is from the Corpus Christi area and has been working in education and public schools for 15 years.  She started her educational career in Alice, Texas, then went to work as a probation officer in Corpus Christi before returning to teaching in a small town called Odem, Texas.  She taught there and then became a middle school counselor.  After working in Odem, she went on to be a school counselor in Mathis, Texas before moving to San Antonio in December of 2022.  She has worked with students in grades Pre-Kindergarten to eighth grade.  Her passion is middle school students and she loves helping students be the best students they can be and teaching them the social and emotional skills necessary to be productive members of their school community as well as their lives outside of school.  She has taught middle school math, history and science and has been a school counselor for nine years.  She has one daughter, an 8th grader, who she loves very much and helps her understand how middle-school-aged students feel.

Mrs. Ida Villavicencio (Alpha M-Z)

Mrs. Ida Villavicencio has been a School Counselor for 25 years at pk-12 grade levels.  She started her career in Education in the Rio Grande Valley after receiving her B.A. in Communications. She continued her education at the University of Texas San Antonio and received a Masters degree in Counseling. Later in her career, she completed a second Masters degree in Ed. Administration.  Mrs. Villavicencio believes in being a life-long learner in order to stay current and relevant in the Counseling Profession.  She is currently pursuing her License as a Professional Counselor and hopes to continue to be of service in the field of Education as a School and Mental Health Counselor. Her passion has always been to help and guide students to their fullest potential and purposefully impart a positive vision for the future.  She believes in Speaking Life and creating a growth mindset not only for herself, but for the community she works with.
